Mary Elizabeth Mahoney

Be it known that Mary Elizabeth (Hlavac) Mahoney went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 18, 2016. She was born on May 1, 1941 to Stephen Hlavac and Elizabeth Kulisek in Baltimore, MD. She married Dennis Roy Mahoney on August 27, 1967. Mary was a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Those close to her will remember her as "Me Me". She enjoyed life through the sights, sounds and foods that would transport a person to another place. You could often find her preparing homemade baked goods for church events, school staff, neighbors and friends to give of her talents and passion for delicious food. She surrounded herself with images and paintings from the American painter Thomas Kinkade that reminded her of simply times filled with peace and joy. Her home boasted of numerous plants that grew abundantly with her gentle touch. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, which drew her closer to her God and Savior as she took great care in her display of the Nativity and all the sights and sounds that are so wondrous to a child; it is fitting that she be remembered with all the colors of season.

She grew up following the Catholic traditions and attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Baltimore, MD. Mary was a Navy Wife who supported her husband while stationed in Hawaii, Norfolk, VA and Seattle, WA. She worked for over 25 years at Seattle Children's Hospital as a Central Service Technician and offered her love and care to whom ever she encountered, both young and old alike. She gave to those in need and supported organizations such as the police and firefighters, orphanages, and disabled veterans.

Mary's husband, known by most as Roy, predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her children: Anne Huskey and Kathryn Montgomery, her five grandchildren: Chloie, Joseph, Rebekah, Madison, and Jaxon; her brothers: James Hlavac and Gerald Hlavac, and many additional friends and family too numerous to name.
