Matthew Owen Boyce

Matthew Owen Boyce, 65, was born on January 22, 1959. He was the sixth of eight children born to Richard Patricia (Hodgson) Boyce. Matthew passed away on Tuesday December 17th at 12:46 pm at Brook Adult Family Home.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard an Patricia, and stepmother Cathy (Kramer), and his brothers Jeffrey and Paul. Matthew is survived by his two children Maxwell and Hayley (Jake) and his sister Kathryn, brother Patrick (Mary), sister Monica (Eli), brother Michael (Kim), sister Jennifer and twelve nieces and nephews. 

Matthew was known grown up as the funny one, he had us kids in stitches when he really got going. He was also the only one of us to have a leash, he was a walker even as a little kid. Matthew spent time working at Magnolia Hi-Fi, Best Buy and Safeway. About two years ago, due to early dementia, Matthew entered Brook Adult Family Home, where he was a true gentleman and friend, fun loving and a team player, he enjoyed exercises and walking (of course!). 

Matthew had become non-verbal, but the home has become quiet showing that he spoke loudly in his silence. 

Matthew's brain was donated to University of Washington research, to further their research in early dementia.
