Michael Paul Bales, 74, of Graford, TX, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by members of his family on March 10, 2022. He was born in Gatesville, Texas on January 11, 1948, son of the late Clarence Edwin Bales and Jessie Opal Brumbalow. He had lived in Graford since 2012. He was a Respiratory Therapist, but after successfully implementing the computer modernization of his department, took a role assisting other facilities in their migrations. He enjoyed traveling to hospitals, helping with the installation, and training clinical staff. His last position was with Dallas County Hospital, from which he retired in 2009. He was a past president of the Cross Timbers Master Naturalist (CTMN) chapter in Fort Worth, member of the NRA, National Speleological Society, and Coryell County Cavers. He loved all aspects of nature and photography. He and his wife designed and built their Graford retirement home overlooking the Brazos River together. Michael is survived by his wife of 26 years, Constance “Connie” [Roos] Bales, brother Charles E. Bales (Sally) of Temple, TX and their two grandchildren; son Jason M. Bales (Leilani) of Garland, TX; daughter Chandra A. Bales (Justin Byrne) of Fort Worth, TX; two step-sons, R. Ben Clemons (Amanda) of Duncanville, AL, and Russell T. Clemons (Charlie Hilliard) of Fort Worth, TX; and five grandchildren. Michael made the decision to forego a service at a funeral home. Instead, Smart Cremation of N. Dallas will manage his cremation.
