Michael T Golden

Michael T Golden, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, at Oakmont of Pacific Beach Memory Care in San Diego. He was born on December 9, 1943, in Waukegan, Illinois.  He lived the majority of his life in San Diego.  Michael lived a life full of dedication and service.

After graduating from Clairemont High School in 1962, Michael went on to serve his country in the Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a proud veteran who dedicated himself to defending the values he held dear. Following his time in the military, Michael pursued a career at San Diego Gas and Electric. Through hard work and determination, he rose through the ranks and retired as a Project Coordinator Manager. His commitment and passion for his work were admired by all who knew him.

While Michael found success in his professional life, it was his love for his family and faith that truly defined him.  His wife of 51 years, Terry Golden, was not just a partner but also his best friend. They built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Michael's children meant the world to him. His son Travis and daughter Tamara brought immense joy to his life through their accomplishments and unwavering support. He took great pride in watching them grow into kind-hearted individuals who shared his values of compassion and integrity.

As a doting grandfather to Ella and Violet, Michael never missed an opportunity to shower them with love and wisdom. He delighted in their presence and found great joy in witnessing their milestones. He is also survived by his daughter's and son-in-law's three children:  Sydney, Daniel Cooper and John Parker, as well as his brother Rick Golden, his sister Pam Dixon, and pre-deceased by his sister Jan Duncan.

Michael enjoyed a well-rounded life. He had a passion for golf, spending countless hours perfecting his swing and enjoying the outdoors. Traveling brought him immense joy, allowing him to explore different cultures and create lasting memories. Sports were another one of his interests, and he could often be found rooting for his favorite teams.

Michael's strong faith guided him throughout his life. His relationship with God was unwavering, and he found solace in his spiritual beliefs. His devotion served as an inspiration to those around him, providing strength and comfort in times of need.

Though our hearts ache with grief at his passing, we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Michael. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and honor that will be cherished by his surviving family and friends. While we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may we carry forward his values as a testament to the extraordinary person that Michael was. As we say our final goodbye, let us remember him with love and gratitude.
