Michael P Kilgore Sr.

Michael P. Kilgore Sr., age 72, of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.

Michael was born on September 23, 1953, in Kansas City, MO to Claude and Isabelle Kilgore. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated many years as a firefighter before retiring from military service. His commitment to duty and service reflected the strength of his character and the pride he took in helping others.

Outside of his service, Michael enjoyed a number of personal passions. He was an avid coin collector, a firearms enthusiast, and had a deep appreciation for classic films. Those who knew him will remember him as a man who always knew what he wanted and lived his life with determination and conviction.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Kilgore; his children, Chris Kilgore and Kim Kilgore; and his cherished grandchildren, Connor Kilgore, Isaiah Battee, Elijah Battee, and Rhyanne Kilgore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Isabelle Kilgore; his in-laws, Marion and Norman Spencer; and his beloved eldest son, Michael “Mike” Kilgore Jr., who passed away in 2008.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Michael will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to his family, and the strong, independent spirit that defined his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
