Myron "Shorty" Ferguson Jr, 74, passed away on Monday August 9th at home with his loving family. Born in Shreveport, LA on August 11, 1946 to Myron and Sisley Ferguson, he was the fifth of six children. He started working after school in his uncle's garage at 8 years old and it turned into a lifelong passion and career. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar, piddling around in his shop and sitting on his front porch in his rocking chair with his dog Lady. Shorty met Vivian in 1975; he took her dancing on their first date and they never stopped dancing, even if just at home. He married Vivian, the love of his life in 1975 and together they had three children. One Sunday in 1990 after hearing the testimony of LuLu Coward, he ran up to the alter to get saved and said "I have to know a God like that." He is proceeded in death by his mom Sisley Ferguson, Clenny & Susie Blanchard and Robert Lee. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Vivian Ferguson. His children Lucus & Becky Ferguson, Sam & Crystal Ferguson, Nicole Ferguson, Jimmy Ferguson, Julie Ferguson and Lonnie Ferguson. Siblings Geneva Owens, Barbara & Lou Hardin, Betty Lostack, Dora Istre and Chester & Martha Ferguson. Grandchildren Zackery, Hannah, Katherine, George, Christopher, and Becky. Ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. As part of the Gift of Life, Shorty donated his bone tissue that will help over 100 people.
