IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nelda Jo
Wiley
March 23, 1943 – February 11, 2026
Nelda Jo Money Wiley passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in Denton, Texas, at the age of 82. A devoted wife, mother, Nana, and friend, Nelda's life was marked by faith, love, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her. Born on March 23, 1943, in Brownwood, Texas, Nelda was the daughter of Jeff Henry Money and Laveta Mae Del Pino. She grew up with her siblings Ralph Del Pino, Johnny Del Pino, and Dianne Pergrem.
On June 9,1961, Nelda married Edward Morriss Wiley in Lewisville, Texas, beginning a lifetime of love that would span more than six decades. Their partnership was a beautiful gift to all who had the privilege of being near them. Together they built a loving home and raised two sons: Rick Wiley and Shane Wiley. With their two sons, they created many precious memories. In time, the family grew to include Rick's wife, Brenda, and Shane's wife, Karen. Over the years, Nelda was blessed to become Nana to her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She cherished her role as Nana as evidenced by her attendance at many ballgames, stock shows, track meets, and choir concerts, where she and Ed showed their love and support for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the early years of married life, Nelda enjoyed barrel racing and participating in playdays. Throughout her life, Nelda delighted in cooking for her family. She is especially remembered for her granny's dressing recipe. Nelda also enjoyed crafting. She embroidered, crocheted and sewed many items that she lovingly crafted and gifted to family and friends. In her professional life, Nelda dedicated 29 years to the Xerox Corporation, where she worked in customer service. Her commitment to excellence and warm demeanor left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. In retirement, Nelda and Ed joined a Good Sam's Camping Club that became an important part of their lives. They spent countless weekends traveling with their camping friends - sharing stories and creating memories that brought them great joy. Nelda especially loved playing games during these outings; Canasta was her favorite. Her competitive spirit shone through as she played with enthusiasm - and often won. Anyone who played games with Nelda knew that she played to win. When Nelda was at family gatherings or camping club meetings, games were going to be played.
Nelda was also a woman of unwavering faith and was a member of the Pilot Point First United Methodist Church. Nelda was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and her siblings. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years Edward Wiley, sons Rick (Brenda) Wiley and Shane (Karen) Wiley, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many dear friends who will miss her warmth and laughter.
Nelda Jo Wiley's life was one well-lived - filled with love for family, dedication to work, joy in friendship, passion for adventure, and a steadfast faith. A memorial service was held on February 21, 2026, at the Pilot Point First United Methodist Church.
