Nina Christina (Pastorino) Oliver passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018. Nina was born in Berkeley, CA November 16, 1940 to Iva Mae and John Louis Pastorino. She had one brother, Braley Pastorino.
Nina grew up in Berkley, CA and then moved to Oregon for college where she attended Pacific University and received a B.A. in Music Education in 1962 and then continued to achieve a 5th year Masters Teaching Certificate from Portland State University in 1966. Nina met her husband, John Oliver, at a dance in 1963. They were married in Portland, OR on August 23, 1964 and moved to Sherwood, OR in 1968. They raised three children; William, James, and Kathleen. Nina worked as a music teacher and organist for most of her career.
She loved her family, music, playing cards (especially pinochle), knitting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She also played and taught many musical instruments including harp, piano, flute, guitar, violin, organ, and more. She especially enjoyed teaching children how to play musical instruments.
She is survived by her husband, John (Jack); children Bill (Martha), Jim (Jose), and Kathy (Jack); grandchildren Dawson, Abby, and Ben.
The family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care and support that was provided by the nurses, therapists, CNAs and staff at the Marquis Rehab Center in Newberg, OR.
