Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ninfa Santana passed away on January 23, 2018, at the age of 94. She was born in Juchitlán, Jalisco, México to Genaro and Elvira Vásquez on April 1, 1923. She was the wife of Enrique Ramos Mendoza, whom she married in 1939, and preceded her in death in 1952. In 1958 she married José B. Santana, who also preceded her in death in 1986. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jorge; sisters, Rosalina and Acela; and two sons, Abraham, and his children, Marco and Alicia; and Oscar. She is survived by her brother, Javier; daughters Hortencia Sanchez (Isidro) and their children Victor; Yvette, and her child, Briana; and Aldo; Elvira Garcia (Ralph) and their children Omar (María Teresa Santana), and their child, Mateo; Rolando (David Boyer); Melissa; and Ralph (Sonia Gonzalez-Garcia), and their child, Quinlan; Esperanza Mendoza and her children Michael, and his children, Sophia and Dominic; Nicolas (Sarah); and Jeffrey; son Raúl; grandson Chris Ramos; and grandsons Jason Santana and Daniel Santana. Ninfa loved her garden, nature (birds), music, cooking, dancing, and socializing. She was an accomplished businesswoman and generous with those who were less fortunate. Her faith, independence, humility, love of family, and strength of character were an inspiration to all who knew her. Ninfa was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, trusted confidant, and a lovely and gracious friend. She said her family was her greatest blessing. Her family has wonderful memories of all the cherished times spent together.
