Norma Miranda Clark

A Life of Boundless Love, Dedicated to Family

Norma Miranda Clark, a beacon of love, compassion, and generosity, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 13, 1942, in Pasay City, Manila, Philippines, Norma lived a life defined by her unwavering devotion to family, faith, and community.

On August 31, 1966, Norma married the love of her life, William Clark. Throughout their 58-year marriage, they traveled across continents and decades, raising three children. Their bond was extraordinary—a partnership defined by mutual devotion, unwavering support, and a love that grew deeper with each passing year. Together, they created a loving family that would span four generations.

A proud daughter from a large family of nine siblings, Norma carried forward the tradition of warmth and inclusivity. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always ready to welcome others. Known for her infectious laugh and extraordinary culinary skills, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. Many of her nieces and nephews affectionately called her Ninang, reflecting the depth of her maternal spirit that extended far beyond her immediate family.

Norma's life was shaped by her husband's naval career, which brought her from the Philippines to various locations across the United States, including Washington DC, Hawaii, and Southern California. The family eventually settled in Oxnard, California, before spending her final years in Oak Harbor, Washington, where she found immense joy and continued to nurture her close-knit community.

A devout Catholic, Norma was a living embodiment of Christian charity. For many years, she served as a eucharistic minister, dedicating herself to her faith and serving her church community with grace and humility.

Her legacy lives on through her children: Dominic, Benedict, and Jenny (Scheinert), and their families. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and had the joy of knowing her first great-grandchild. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her life was a testament to the power of love, hospitality, and selfless care.

Norma is remembered not just as a mother and wife, but as a connector of people, a nurturer of relationships, and a source of unconditional love. Her ability to make everyone feel welcome, her generosity of spirit, and her boundless capacity for care will be profoundly missed.
