Our beautiful brother, son, uncle, friend, and teacher, Paul Gregory Hansen, of Palm Springs, died of cancer on March 31, 2013 at age 53, with loved ones at his side. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his large family and many friends, including his 6th grade class and fellow staff members at Oasis Elementary (CVUSD).Paul was a resident of Palm Springs for the past 8 years. Born in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, he grew up in the Seattle area and was a 1977 graduate of Queen Anne High School, where he was an esteemed member of the varsity football and golf teams. He lived in Arizona and California for more than 30 years, and was a graduate of Arizona State University (Communication and Education). In addition to teaching, his occupations included real estate sales and PGA assistant pro in Encino, California.Paul had an ability to make people smile in the darkest moments and had an unyielding kindness and generosity of spirit. He had a lifelong passion and great love for his two dogs Noel and Holly. He also loved to travel, ski, and with a mathematician'?s mind, the horse races.Survivors include his mother LaVone Marie Holzborn of Fircrest, Washington, who saw caring for Paul during his last few months as an honor, and his father and step-mother Earl and Peggy Hansen, of Lynnwood, Washington.
