Peter John Simon passed away peacefully, at the age of 84, on July 14th, 2023. He was receiving compassionate care during his final days at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California. 

Peter had been a homeowner in the town of Belmont, California since 1979. Prior to that, he was a resident of San Francisco since the early 1960s. 

Peter was born on February 23rd, 1939 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Donald and Mary Simon. Peter is survived by his wife, Nury Simon, his spouse of almost 56 years. He is also survived by his four children, Angela Anderson, Deirdre Simon, Matthew Simon, and Andrina Simon­ Oron, along with his six grandchildren Tony, Aaron, Alex, Adam, Michael, Levi, and great grandson Malaki. 

He is preceded in Death by his three brothers, Donald Simon, Mike Simon, and Louis Simon. He is survived by his four sisters, Marcia Long, Sharon Sharp, Roseanne M. Kowal, and Karen Gallagher. Peter is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces. 

Peter graduated from St. Mary's Springs Academy in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in the year 1957. Before moving out to California, Peter served for two years in the United States Navy. For much of his career life, Peter worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia down in the San Francisco Financial District, working as a Loan Officer in Commercial Real Estate. Taking an early retirement from banking, Peter worked in transportation of medical supplies for several years. 

During his more active years, Peter enjoyed hiking and family vacations, traveling with his family to Lake Tahoe and Genoa in the State of Nevada. He also enjoyed occasional volunteer work on the weekends with the Belmont Parks and Recreation Department. 

No funeral services are being planned. Although, a Celebration of Life Mass is being planned for a later date in August, yet to be determined.
