Philip Anderson passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 74.
He is remembered as a devoted husband, beloved father, and grandfather, loyal friend, and a respected businessman.
Phil was humble, sweet, and kind. He was a good man to know and a great man to remember. Born on November 13, 1950, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Wesley Anderson and Millie Lesniewski, he was raised in Hastings, Nebraska. Upon graduation from Hastings High School, he attended Hastings Central Technical Community College and Hastings College.
He dedicated much of his life to the retail industry, owning and operating several small businesses and working for Payless Cashway, a hardware store in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1985, he moved to Spring, Texas, to open and manage a new Furrow’s hardware store. In the years that followed, he continued serving his community through his remodeling business, Anderson’s Services.
Phil enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout his life, among them refinishing furniture, gardening, fishing, boating, and hunting. He also gave generously of his time through volunteer work with the Boy Scouts. Most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his family.
Phil leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Deborah, of Spring, Texas. He is also survived by his children - Bradly of Hastings, Nebraska; Amy Good of Hastings, Nebraska; and Kevin of Whitman, Nebraska - and by his stepsons, Addison Smith of Richmond, Texas, and Brandon Smith of Metairie, Louisiana. Phil’s legacy continues through his 16 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ron of Eagle, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents.
