Regina Cecelia Green Summers

On October 20, 2013, Regina C. Summers (Regina C. Green, Regina C. Holody), passed away in her
family home while under hospice care. She had just turned 89. She had been in declining health for
some time. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Karl D. Summers, her two sons Jeffry Green
and Gary Green and his companion Joy, her sister-in-laws Miriam and Rosemary, as well as many
relatives, nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Raymond E. Green, Jr., her husband of 33 years, predeceased Regina in 1988. Her brother, Norman
Wojtkiewicz, predeceased her in 1998. Regina was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 20, 1924 to
Sophia L. Holody(Pijkowski) and James Wojtkiewicz. She spent most of her life in Southern
California, growing up in Los Angeles and then moving to Orange County after marriage to Raymond
Green upon their son Jeffry's birth.
Regina had a great love of life, family, and her pets. She thoroughly enjoyed many family gatherings
and the holidays, and a huge part of her life involved being very active with her friends in local
community organizations, both in service and leadership positions, and in the arts. She also loved travel
and outdoor living, with cabin residences in Brianhead, Utah and Big Bear, California.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 E. Fairhaven Ave., Santa
Ana, CA 92701 on Tuesday, November 5th, 1:30-2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to
two charities she was very active in: Children's Home Society of California (http://www.chs-ca.org or
714-456-9800) or the Assistance League of Santa Ana (http://www.assistkids.org or 714-664-0547).
