Robert "Bob" Preston Bacchus passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, in Vacaville, California. He was born on August 13, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Jean Preston Bacchus and Martha Jane Britt Bacchus.
In 1965, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as a trumpet player in the Air Force Band. His first assignment was at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. He was later stationed at Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu, Hawaii. It was there that he met the love of his life, Debi Buckelew.
Bob and Debi were married on October 25, 1969, in San Leandro, California, beginning a marriage and family that would span more than 56 years.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Debi; their children, Aaron (Alison), Nathan (Kristi), Joseph (Marlene), Rebecca (Phil), and David; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ellizybeth.
Bob will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and the music that was an important part of his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Hall, located at 1305 N. First Street, Dixon, California.
