Robert (Bob) Dorney was born Sep. 19, 1930 to Albert and Charlotte (Mullenhoff) Dorney. Robert, 90, died Monday, August 30th, 2021, among his loving family in Gresham, Oregon.

Robert served in the Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict and was deployed to Ladd Air Base in Fairbanks Alaska. When he returned to Oregon he obtained a real estate license and worked for Wes Lynn Realty.

He then joined the Portland Police Force and his career spanned 35 years. He worked as a patrolman, a homicide detective, and as a patrol sergeant.

After retiring from the Portland Police he returned to working at Safeway in the produce department where he worked 17 additional years.

Loving husband of Teruko (Yamaguchi) Dorney. Father to Joseph, Patrick and Molly Dorney. He was preceded in death by his daughters Susan Dorney and Margaret (Peggy) Hale. He was grandfather to ten and had many great grandchildren, Brother to Dolores Colter of Washington.

Robert loved to travel, he and his wife Teruko had visited numerous countries together. He also enjoyed hiking, mushroom hunting and gardening.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1430 S.E. Nehalem St., Portland, Oregon 97202. Masks are required for all attendees.

Interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR 97086.
