Bob Hight, a resident of Santa Clara, CA died at the age of 74 on August 17, 2013. The cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest.

Bob was born in Phoenix, AZ on July 15, 1939. He came to California as a young boy and graduated from Santa Cruz High School. He was a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW 332 for more than 40 years.

Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also an accomplished man with varied interests. Among them were home brewing, singing, writing, stained glass designing, keyboarding and baking bread. Most recently he set out to further his education through “The Great Courses” with specific interests in history, economics, religion, science, music, art, gardening and cooking.

Bob was also an avid reader enjoying mysteries by Sue Grafton, Cara Black, Dashiell Hammett, P.D James, Raymond Chandler and Agatha Christie.

He also enjoyed the humor of Carl Hiaasen, Christopher Buckley, Bill Bryson, Christopher Moore and P.G. Wodehouse. Non-fiction books were another genre he favored.
