Roberta Jean (Benton) Lumsden

On Saturday December 2, 2023, Roberta entered her heavenly home with her lifelong partner and loving husband, the caring and loving staff of Oregon Veterans’ Home Lebanon by her side. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard, sons Clifford in Irving, TX., Jeffrey, Seattle, WA. -Brother-in-law Wilbert Ill and sister-in-law Eleanor Benton. Both in Millington, MI. Three grandchildren, Kristopher, Phillip and Samantha. Seven great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. In-laws, Jennie Lee, Harry and Nancy.

Roberta graduated from Millington High School 1954. Married Richard March 1, 1958. Was a career Navy wife before retiring as a Library Media Technician. Her Happy Place was her farmhouse in Albany OR.

Roberta is proceeded in death by, Her parents, Frank and Dorthy Benton. sisters, Barbara Ill, Elaine Snyder, brother-Howard R Benton and nephew-Howard Dean Benton.  

At her request after cremation her ashes will be committed in Greatlakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. in the spring. Memorial gifts can be directed to Oregon State Library Talking Books, Salem OR
