Roberto Rivas Jr.

Roberto Jr. “Robbie” Rivas, 62, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1963, in El Paso to Roberto Senior Rivas and Manuela Serrano.

Robbie was a humble, hardworking man who served as a bus driver in the Transportation Department of the El Paso Independent School District. He had a big, protective heart and loved his family deeply. He was always willing to help those in need and did everything he could to ensure that the people he loved were safe and cared for.

He enjoyed working out, riding his motorcycle, going on adventures, and relaxing with his favorite drinks and snacks. He also loved listening to music. One of his favorite bands was Fleetwood Mac, and he especially enjoyed the songs “Dreams” and “Rhiannon.” He treasured spending time at home with his beloved girlfriend, Irma Daly, and their dog, Shooter. Robbie was known for his good humor, generous spirit, and wholehearted love.

Above all, Robbie loved his children and grandchildren. He made time to attend their school activities, volleyball tournaments, and other special events, even stepping in when their parents could not be there. His presence showed his family how important they were to him and reminded them that they could always count on their grandpa.

On August 16, 2026, Robbie was baptized at Del Sol Church and publicly dedicated his life to God. His family finds comfort in knowing that he left this earth with faith in his heart.

Robbie is survived by his beloved girlfriend, Irma Daly; his children, Natasha Loraine Rivas, Misty Montoya, Lydia Elaine Orozco, and Felicia Rose Rivas; and his grandchildren, Liliana Chavez, Julie Adrienne Morales, Erik Elias Montoya, Esme Snow Montoya, Romen Orozco, Abram Orozco, and Jacob Michael Boyd. He is also survived by his sisters and their families: Rosie and Felipe Garza, Gloria and Fernando Miranda, Sylvia and Jorge Martinez. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will deeply miss their uncle, as well as his faithful dog, Shooter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Senior Rivas; his mother, Manuela Serrano; and his nephew, Josue Garza.

Robbie will be remembered as a devoted father, uncle, grandfather, brother, partner, and protector. He loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. His strength, generosity, and protective spirit will remain with his family forever. To his children, he will always be Dad, and they will carry his love in their hearts for the rest of their lives.

His memory will live on through every life he touched, every family gathering, every motorcycle ride, every laugh, and every moment when his loved ones show up for one another—just as he always tried to do.
