Rochelle Ostermiller
Rocheller Ostermiller, 68, of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a woman whose bright spirit and warm personality drew people to her wherever she went.
Rochelle was born on December 9,1957, in Del Norte, Colorado, to Elwin Eugene Ecord and Melva Clark. As a teenager, she struck out on her own with remarkable independence, making her way to San Antonio, where she worked as a waitress before eventually returning to Colorado. Determined to build a strong foundation for her future, Rochelle earned her high school degree and went on to attend some college. She found her professional calling as an Administrative Assistant, a role she excelled in throughout most of her career, bringing her natural organizational skills and personable nature to every workplace she touched.
Rochelle was fun loving, bright, and genuinely enjoyed being around people. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and was always eager to be part of community groups and gatherings. Her warmth and easy conversation made her someone people simply liked being around.
She and her husband, Gerry, shared a love of travel, particularly when water was involved. The two enjoyed cruises to various Caribbean destinations, creating memories together under sunny skies and along beautiful coastlines. Whether it was the open ocean or a quiet shore, Rochelle was happiest near the water.
Rochelle was preceded in death by her parents, Elwin Eugene Ecord and Melva Clark. She is survived by her loving her husband, Gerald Ostermiller of Fredericksburg; her son, Anthony Lee Ostermiller-Ecord; her daughter Deanna Marie Ostermiller; her brother, Jake Millikin Leck; and her sister, Terrie Annette Ecord Revious Pacheo, Jean Marie Ecord Wendel Kitts, and Melanie Clark.
Rochelle's faith in Christ was a source of comfort and strength, especially in her final days. Her family takes solace in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Heavenly, reunited with those who went before her.
A celebration of Rochelle's life will held at a later date. The family asks that instead of flowers a donation in Rochelle's name can be made to the American Cancer Society, if so desired. Details of the celebration will be shared with family and friends as plans are finalized.
