Roger Eugene Forgatsch

Roger Eugene Forgatsch of Sun City, AZ was born in the small Amish town of Goshen, Indiana in 1946, to Frank Forgatsch (an immigrant to Ellis Island from Transylvania) and Viola Dorothy Currie.  His father instilled in him a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. His family moved to California when he was a teenager.

He passed away at home in the care of Infinity Hospice after a battle with esophageal cancer.

He is survived by his significant other of 31 years, Diane Wesley, and their Yorkshire terrier, Bentley, and all of Diane's extended family which includes 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, all residing in Arizona.  He is also survived by his 4 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren who reside in Northern California.

He lived on his own terms and died the same way.  He was a master mechanic in the trades and a master of them all.  He was self-employed most of his life.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting bear and lion in Northern Arizona.  He loved ocean fishing and spent many summers RVing in San Diego, and after that, he enjoyed the cool pines of Prescott for years.

He was a member of the Elks and the Sun City RV club.  He also did volunteer work at the Sun City Animal Shelter where we adopted our Bentley.

Well wishes go with him on the next leg of his forever journey.  He will be missed!

In the end, it is not the years in your life, but the life in your years.

Roger will be remembered for his kindness, and his love for family and friends.  He will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Rest in Peace.
