Roger Victor Wasson, born on February 16, 1957, in Caliente, Nevada, passed away on November 23,2024, in Texas. He was a devoted individual whose life was marked by service to others, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness and laughter.
Roger's professional journey was noteworthy; he worked as a troubleshooting technician with an RV dealership before spending over 20 years as one of the top technicians and trainers with Sears. His expertise was recognized through his certifications in electrical, mechanical, small engine repair, and HVAC. A man of remarkable skill and dedication, Roger earned an associate degree of applied science in mechanical electrical technology from Texas State Technical Institute, furthering his education at Tulsa Junior College and Clarendon College.
In addition to his technical acumen, Roger was cherished for his warm personality and infectious laughter. He had a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His love for children was evident; he had an extraordinary gift for making them smile and laugh, creating joyful memories that will forever be treasured. Roger's ability to connect with people left a void in his community that will not easily be filled.
Though Roger joined the Navy at the young age of 18, he received an honorable medical discharge shortly thereafter due to an asthma attack. While this led to a shift in his dreams, he rose above the challenge and built a fulfilling life dedicated to others. His spirit of resilience and capacity for love defined his essence.
Roger had a profound appreciation for the past, often immersing himself in his interest in antiques and old ways of life. His passions and pursuits reflected his deep respect for history and storytelling.
Roger is survived by his brothers, Frank Wasson, David Wasson, and Wayne Wasson; his sister, Leah Davis; and his cousins, Linda Riggins, TJ Proctor, Kris Karloski, and Karen Koerner. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Wasson; mother, Frances Wasson; and brothers, Wesley Wasson and John Hanne.
His departure has left an emptiness that was once filled with love and smiles. Roger Victor Wasson will be profoundly missed by all who knew him; however, his essence will continue to shimmer in the memories he leaves behind.
