Rosa Garcia Cuellar, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on August 25,2024 in LaCoste, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 1, 1942, in Acapulco Mexico, Rosa brought warmth, joy, and kindness into the lives of all who knew her.
Education was important to Rosa, who attended boarding school and graduated from Ursuline Academy in San Antonio, Texas, under the mentorship of the late Sister Andre Becker. This foundation in learning shaped her life and instilled an appreciation for knowledge and growth.
Rosa spent 15 years of her life in her career as a certified clinical medical transcriptionist in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her commitment to her profession reflected her meticulous nature and desire to help others through her work. Above all, however, it was her nurturing spirit that truly defined her character. A devoted wife and loving mother, Rosa prioritized the needs of her family, always putting them first.
Those close to her will fondly remember her infectious laughter and her unique ability to find humor even in the simplest situations. A kind and gentle soul, Rosa had a gift for making everyone feel cherished and welcomed, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of family and friends.
Rosa was an excellent cook, and holidays in her home were a feast for the senses, filled with the rich, savory aromas of menudo, caldo de res, and chile rellenos. She was also passionate about tending to her flower garden, particularly her beloved rose bushes. Browsing antique stores and curating a collection of Franciscan Desert Rose was a hobby that brought her joy, as did relaxing vacations by the beach with a margarita on the rocks in hand.
Rosa is survived by her two devoted daughters, Leticia Cuellar and Teresa Cuellar, along with her dear son-in-law, Scott Boudin. Also grieving her loss are her dear sisters, Estella de la Reyna and Esther de la Reyna. Rosa now joins her parents, Estanizlada Gallegos and Antonio de la Reyna, along with her brother, Samuel de la Reyna, and her ex-husband, Michelangelo Perez Cuellar, in eternal peace.
As we remember Rosa, let us celebrate her legacy of love, laughter, and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
