Ruben Cantu

Ruben Cantu, Jr, 44, of Thousand Palms, CA passed away on Wednesday December 11, 2013.

He was the first and only son born to Ruben Cantu Sr. and Isabel 'Connie' Cantu on a very special Monday, the 30th of December in 1968. Ruben graduated from Palm Springs High School and went on to take some classes at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA. Ruben had various jobs including being a typesetter for The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, CA.

Ruben was an extremely intelligent, well-behaved child and had the sweetest, most generous and giving spirit. As a man, he was a private person and a man of few words, but those words were always very loving and encouraging. He only wanted his family to be happy and would do anything to ensure that. The void he has left in his family can never be filled.

Ruben has left behind his mother, Isabel C. Cantu of Thousand Palms, CA; his father, Ruben Cantu Sr. of Thousand Palms, CA; His sisters, Esperanza Cantu of Thousand Palms, CA, Cristina Cantu of Vancouver, WA, and Angela Ramos of Thousand Palms, CA. Nieces and Nephews; Jonathan B. Cantu, Cristopher Cantu, Lucas Cantu, Melina Camargo-Cantu, Asia Ramos and Kyle Cantu; his great nephew Cylar Cantu. He has also left behind his stepmother, Rosemary Cantu of Thousand Palms, CA and his stepsister Gina Reyes-Hopkins of Desert Hot Springs, CA. And many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, brother-in-laws and his buddy Chiquita the Chihuahua.

The family is holding a celebration of life for Ruben Cantu Jr, on December 21, 2013 at 11:00 am sharp at Century Park in Cathedral City, CA in lieu of a burial or wake.
