Rudy came to the United States in the 1950’s to fulfill the dream of living in the land of opportunity. He met his wife before he left Switzerland, but didn’t marry his beloved Heidy until after serving in the U.S. Military (Army).
Rudy worked for himself most of his life. He loved making and building things from homes to custom cabinetry.
An avid snow skier, he shared his passion with his three children, wife and later his grandchildren. Weekends on the slopes in the northeast were common in winter. Summers were spent playing tennis and watching his two sons play tennis. Fishing and biking were later hobbies which he enjoyed until age 90.
Rudy loved his cat, Simba who was there until the end and will miss him greatly.
Family meant a lot to Rudy and many holidays were spent together filled with laughter, love, sometimes fondue and pear schnapps.
Rudy attended church with his wife at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 am, 3015 Pleasant Valley Road, Sachse, Texas.
