Sandra Elizabeth Nardone

Sandra E was born November 4, 1947, the eldest child of six of the late Lisle and Mildred Catherine (Kosic) Davis.

She was a 1965 graduate of Laura Lamar High School in Homer City, PA.

Sandra married James S. Nardone of Blairsville, PA, and they had over 57 years together.  Residing in Homer City, PA, until 1977, they moved to Glendale, AZ, then spent their retirement years in nearby Peoria, AZ.

She worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life---Foodland in Pennsylvania, Smitty’s in Arizona, the City of Glendale, Az, Fleming Foods, Linens N Things and Union Hills Country Club.

Sandra was a skin care consultant with Mary Kay cosmetics for 30+ years and thoroughly enjoyed helping people take care of their skin and making them look beautiful in the hot Arizona sun.  She was an avid reader, loved keeping her mind sharp by doing puzzles, attended college business and accounting classes, enjoyed going to live theater productions, swinging a golf club and bowling in leagues.  She attained the high honor of having rolled 11 strikes in a row—twice!

Mom was a wonderful cook and baker -  our home always had the best of treats for all to enjoy. Our parents enjoyed many travel adventures with family and friends over the years. Watching their grandson play sports was a favorite passion of theirs.  She also had a sweet array of friends that she gathered with for lunches and social groups.  Jim and Sandy were active in their community, longtime members of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City, AZ, & previously of St. Louis the King in Glendale, AZ, where they made life-long friends.

Sandy was one-of-a-kind. Feisty, witty, strong-willed, wise, honest, loyal & loving, a brave warrior in her 1.5 year fight against ovarian cancer. Now, she is free from pain and reunited in heaven with her husband and loved ones. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Of all the things she was the most proud of in life, her greatest joy and fulfillment were her marriage and family.

She is survived by her two children: Christopher & Angie (Brad) Kaoni, grandson Noah, and 4 siblings - Cindy (Bill) Kopchick, Keith (Debra) Davis, Kevin (Nancy) Davis, & Dan (Carolyn) Davis of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends across the country. In addition to her husband, Jim, and her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her sister, Linda (Paul) Short.

Sandy will be cremated and there will be a dual celebration of life service for Jim and Sandy at their church, St. Elizabeth Seton, on April 28, 2023 at 10am. A reception at the church will follow. We will celebrate again with family and friends in PA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Hospice of the Valley or St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
