Sandra Leigh Talbert was born on January 3, 1944. Sandra was a deeply loving, genuine, and selfless woman whose life was centered around her faith, her family, and caring for others. Strong, passionate, honest, and lovingly stubborn, she had a way of making people feel welcomed and accepted exactly as they were. She was grandmotherly in every sense of the word—warm, traditional, non-judgmental, and always ready to make room for one more person at her table. She married Gerald Talbert in 1967 and built a family that became one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a devoted mother to Tammy (Michael) Trueblood and Stephanie Cirami; a cherished grandmother to Samantha (Bobby), MacKenzie (Ariel Joseph), Corinne (Travis), Kennedy, Leo (Meredith), and Benjamin; and a loving great-grandmother to Aiden, Dawson, and Wesley. She found joy in the simple things that made a home feel special: reading, knitting, crafts, ceramics, cooking, and baking. She especially loved the holidays and all of the traditions that came with them. Festive at heart, she believed no one should ever spend a holiday alone. Her door and her table were always open, and she never hesitated to invite someone into her home so they could be surrounded by food, family, and love. Her faith, strength, generosity, and unconditional love will remain a lasting part of the family she treasured so deeply. She will be remembered not only for the things she created and the traditions she kept, but for the countless ways she made others feel cared for, included, and loved. Sandra passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. As we say goodbye, we take great comfort in knowing that Sandra was a loyal and faithful servant of Jesus throughout her life. We believe that when her earthly journey came to an end, she took Jesus’ hand and went home. Though our hearts are heavy, there is peace in knowing she is now resting beside Him, watching over the family she loved so dearly until we are together again. Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Cemeteries, 16200 Manchester Road, St Louis, MO 63123 on October 31, 2026 at 9:00 am.
