Serafin Montes

Serafin Montes, born February 26, 1938, in Detroit MI, the last child out of six with Demetrio & Avelina Montes, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday November 5, 2024.  Serafin was able to say "goodbye" to his three biological children and a best friend and died on his terms.  His daughter Serafina and son Mark were with him.  He was married to Patricia Montes for 44 years.  Patricia preceded him in death on September 18, 2024.  He lived a good life.  He traveled all over the world and throughout the United States.  He was very active in the Vikings and served as their President for a couple terms.  He loved the Colorado River and had a second home there.  Although born in Michigan he made California his home for a majority of his life.  He lived in several Southern California Beach Cities before locating in Indio.  Serafin will be cremated, per his wishes.  His ashes will be scattered both in Walled Lake Michigan and San Diego California at sea to join his beloved Patricia.  Serafin leaves behind children; Serafina, Mark & Matt; Julie, Yale & Micheal; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  He also has a very large extended family and numerous friends who will all miss his presence in this life.  Rest in Peace Dad!!
