Sherry Louise Magnuson

Sherry Louise Magnuson, a beloved wife, mother grandmother, and travel enthusiast, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup,. She was surrounded by her loving family by her side during her final moments. Sherry's warm and kind-hearted nature touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Born on December 15, 1935, in Tacoma, Washington, Sherry was the daughter of Frank and Lillian Millard. She grew up in Olympia and graduated from high school before pursuing her higher education at the University of Washington. Go Dawgs! While at the University of Washington, Sherry met her husband, Westley Magnuson Jr. They had 2 children, Douglas and Sandra. Sadly, Wes passed away at the age of 36. Doug passed away at the age of 60 in 2017.

Sherry found her true calling as a travel agent and dedicated over 30 years to helping others explore the world. Her love for travel was infectious, especially when it came to cruising. She took delight in crafting unforgettable experiences for her clients and creating lifelong memories for them.

While professional accomplishments were significant to Sherry, family held an even greater place in her heart. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, particularly during the holidays. The joyous festivities provided an opportunity for Sherry to be surrounded by laughter and love. One of her favorite traditions was baking cookies with her daughter and grandkids during these festive seasons; it brought immense joy to Sherry's heart.

Beyond traveling and family time, Sherry had a flair for cake decorating. The artistry she showcased through cake decoration was truly remarkable. Not only did she excel at it herself, but she also enjoyed teaching others this beautiful craft. Selfless as ever, she willingly shared her talent with anyone eager to learn.

Sherry's warm personality was reflected in every interaction she had with those around her. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to others. Determined and resilient, she faced any challenge that came her way with grace and unwavering strength.

Among her proudest accomplishments was sharing her passion for holiday decorating. Sherry opened her doors to the community, showcasing her beautiful decorations and inviting others to share in the magic of the season. Her generosity left a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate to experience her festive displays.

Sherry leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Sandra Burns and her husband, Robert Burns and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Magnuson. She was also a doting grandmother to Alyssa McCafferty, Rachel Burns, Makayla Meyer, Jamee Rowley and 6 great grandchildren, Colt Rowley, Caden Rowley, Avery Meyer, Braxton Meyer, Renee McCafferty, and Eva McCafferty.
