On April 22, 2017, Shirley Nadene Clark succumbed to complications resulting from ALS. She passed, in her home, in the loving arms of her family. Shirley was born May 7, 1956 in Pomona, CA. She spent her teenage years and early twenties adventuring, sometimes with the love of her life, Allen Clark. She was a dancing machine in her youth and throughout her life. At 27 years of age she decided to settle down and raise a family, raising 3 boys as a single mother while working full time and going to school to pursue a career in the mental health field. She was also very involved in the AA community, worked diligently in the mental health field, and enjoyed studying how the human mind works. She rekindled her flame with Allen and they married on December 28, 1997. Shirley was very caring and spent quite a bit of time with her mother, Mary Hughes, who preceded her in death; they were inseparable. They had many giggling fits due to their extreme goofiness. Shirley was an avid gardener with an unmatched green thumb. She also had a soft spot for injured animals and nursed a few fallen birds back to health. Shirley brought light and laughter to all fortunate enough to be in her life. Shirley is survived by her loving spouse Allen; sons Benjamen Trimble (spouse Marie), Richard Trimble, and Marcus Urena; grandchildren Dani Hampton, Johnnie Trimble, Domina Trimble, and Jerry Trimble; step-son Allen Jeffery Clark; step-grandchildren Marques Rushing and Michael Heno; sisters Jane Collins, Gael Pullen, Barbara Williams, and Joice Richardson; Mother-in-law Audrey Brown. There are many other loved ones who will miss her deeply, including longtime friends and neighborhood kids that she invited to "join the family."
