Shirley Catherine Davis

Shirley Catherine (nee Jacobs) Davis, 92, was born in Methuen, Massachusetts on August 18, 1932 and passed away on December 14, 2024 (unofficially the 13th) in Austin, Texas. To those she left behind she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her mother Catherine (nee Whitehead) Jacobs, father Charles Jacobs, brother Charles Jacobs, husband Harvey E. Davis and granddaughter April Chesak. She leaves behind four daughters: Catherine, Audrey, Michele and Andrea; nine grandchildren: Kristen, Breanna, Genevieve, Jonathan, Scott, Jennifer, Amber, Daryl and Tommy; nine great-grandchildren: Rhiannon, Brylon, Logan, Parker, Townes, Ezra, Gabriel, Vanessa and Adrian and three great-great-grandchildren: Emrick, Lillith and Aislynn.

She attended Searles High School in Methuen. Then married and spent many years traveling with her Air Force husband and family. She was always interested in learning new things and got her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the mid-70s from Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State). After graduating, she worked for the school system as a Speech Pathologist, first in Texas and later in California.

There was a small service held for Shirley at Brookdale North Austin on December 27, 2024.
