Stephen Thomas Kean

1ST SGT (Retired) Stephen T Kean, Jr.

Thursday, September 20, 2018, 1ST SGT (Retired) Stephen T. Kean Jr. left this earth to go with God. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Kean, his children, Patrick Kean, Sandra Wolfer and her husband Nick, and son, Stephen T Kean III. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Reese Wolfer, his siblings, Tom Kean and wife Mary, Patricia Carnell and husband, Kip and Karen Eaton. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and one great great niece.

Stephen was born on September 22, 1955 in West Virginia. His family settled in Austin, Texas where he went to school until joining the Army in 1973. He served his country for 22 years and retired in 1995. He then returned to school, earning his Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science. He then worked for Microsoft until retiring in 2005. During his retirement he took up photography and enjoyed that for many years, photographing horse rides, children, zoo animals and bugs. In 2012, he was diagnosed with cancer and after a 6 year valiant battle, he succumbed.

Funeral services will be held on October 19, at 3pm with a celebration of his life at the VFW directly following.
