Steven Neal Shneider passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, in Woodland Hills, California at the age of 72.
Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the younger of the two sons of William and Rose (Fox) Shneider. After graduating from Westside High School in Omaha, Steve attended the University of Nebraska, then headed west to pursue his dreams. He enjoyed several professions throughout his early life, including a number of years as a project manager with Motorola, where he made many lifelong friends. Following his tenure at Motorola, Steve found his life’s true calling when he obtained his security licenses and became a financial advisor. From his early years with Morgan Stanley and later at Infinex Financial Group, Steve’s natural empathy, creative thinking and ability to truly listen served his clients well for many years until his retirement in 2022.
An avid golfer endlessly in search of that elusive hole-in-one, Steve enjoyed the camaraderie of his weekly golf outings. He was also an enthusiastic and dedicated fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Los Angeles Dodgers. A kind, unpretentious man with a sly sense of humor, Steve had a rare gift for making others smile, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Edna Shneider. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Gibson, of Woodland Hills, California; his brother, James Shneider of Omaha, Nebraska; his nephew, Robert Matthew Gibson, of San Diego, California; his brother-in-law, Robert Christopher (Gloria) Gibson, of Athens, Georgia, and by many loving cousins and friends.
