Steven Francis Twomey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Francis Twomey on February 7, 2025, at the age of 71, succumbing to lung cancer. Steve was born on December 24, 1953, in Watertown, Wisconsin.

Steve met the love of his life and beloved wife, Debbie Twomey, when he was 17 years old. During their 51 years of marriage, they had three children: Holly, Jason, and Michael. 

He is survived by his brother David Twomey, sisters Kaye Twomey, Connie Daul-Twomey, and Paula Markert, daughter Holly (and Billy) Bess, sons Jason (and Gina) Twomey and Michael Twomey, his six grandchildren Tiffanie (and Suavey) Turner (32), Lydia Twomey (23), Macy Twomey (19), Nola Twomey (16), Hailey Bess (15), Colton Twomey (15), Tre Bess (10), and his dog Luci. He was preceded in death by his father Frank Twomey, mother Donna Scheer, stepfather Bob Scheer, and brother Scott Twomey.

Steve worked at HealthMarkets Insurance Agency as an insurance agent where he took great pride in servicing his clients. He was old school and still loved to meet face to face with his clients. Steve never fully retired because of his love for helping his clients with their Medicare needs. He was still servicing clients up until his last days.

Steve lived his life the best he knew spending quality time with his grandchildren, playing golf, walking Luci, and soaking up the Arizona heat hanging out on the back patio. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. The family took comfort in Steve’s strength throughout as he reflected on what a great life he lived.

A celebration of life will be held on March 1, 2025 at Native Grill and Wings located at 21164 N John Wayne, Maricopa, AZ 85138 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. As Steve prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same. Go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. And the next time you throw one back, think of Steve.
