Suzanne Carol Kenyon

Suzanne Carol Shaw Kenyon was born in Decatur, IL on August 15, 1949 and died on October 25, 2023 in Rocklin, CA.

Suzanne was married to her ever-loving husband, Timothy Kenyon, for 56 years.  She was the mother of two precious daughters, Kristina Kenyon of Cross Plains, WI, and Kathryn Swank of Roseville, CA.  She was the mother-in-law of two wonderful men, Gary Wensing and Douglas Swank.  In addition, she was the grandmother to three brilliant grandchildren, Kenyon Wensing, Hannah Wensing, and Gage Swank.

Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from California State University, Sacramento in 1976.  She was employed as a fingerprint analyst for the State of California DOJ 1967-1977, as a loan processor for First Federal Savings and Loan of Little Rock, AR 1978-1981, and as an accountant for the Federation of American Hospitals 1986-1987, Adaptive Micro Systems in Milwaukee, WI 1988-1999, and Placer County Superior Court in Auburn, CA 2002-2007.

Suzanne truly enjoyed singing with the Bel Canto Chorus of Milwaukee, WI and the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra (SCSO), making several singing tours through Europe and China.  Some of her memorable singing experiences include the Vatican, Notre Dame, the Great Wall of China, Carnegie Hall, and with the backup choirs to both Luciano Pavarotti in Chicago and the Boston Pops in Sacramento.

Suzanne was very creative and loved quilting, sewing, woodworking, and stained-glass creations.  She also loved baking, especially Valentine cookies.  She shared her creations as donations to her beloved SCSO.

Suzanne also loved birdwatching during her travels to all fifty states in the USA.  She served as Treasurer with the Rocklin Friends of the Library and helped launch their Little Free Library program.  She displayed and sold her stained-glass creations through the Art League of Lincoln.  In her spare time, she loved to read.

In respecting Suzanne’s wishes, no memorial service will be held at this time.  Any donations in her honor should be made to SCSO at sacramentochoral.org/donate.
