Tanni Tytel

In loving memory of Tanni Tytel, who departed on December 14, 2023
LA QUINTA – Born on August 2, 1945, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Tanni Tytel, a woman of
worldly experiences, passed away on December 10, 2023. She pursued her education in Mexico City,
traversed through South Africa, New York, Florida, and Los Angeles, eventually becoming the esteemed
president of Putnam Publishing. Following her retirement, she continued heading up the
scholastic division from the comfort of her home.
Tanni's adventurous spirit matched that of her late husband, Bud, former VP of the European
division of Mattel. Together, they epitomized a jet-setting power couple. Tanni's passions included
reading, hosting her renowned Danish dinners, her book clubs, and reluctantly engaging in golf for the
sake of cherished friendships – earning her the affectionate nickname, "two-pop Tanni." As founding
members of The Hideaway, Bud and Tanni shared countless joyful moments there.
Vivacious, opinionated, remarkably intelligent, and generously spirited, Tanni Tytel will be
deeply missed. She is survived by her godsons, Cristian De Ferari and Max De Ferari, along with their
wife and mother Sandra, whom she cherished dearly. Her much-loved cat, Tobytoo, also survives her.
Tanni embraced life with intensity, both in her pursuits and relationships. Her memory lives on in the
hearts of those who were touched by her vibrant spirit.
