Vaughn Richard Axling, 47, passed away on May 20, 2017 at Franciscan Hospice House after a 7-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was born on May 3rd, 1970 in Spokane WA. His parents were Richard and Margaret.

Vaughn served in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1992 as an M-1 Abrams hull mechanic with the 4/34 Armored Division. For his service in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze stars. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E-4 in 1992.

Among his hobbies and interests, Vaughn enjoyed model railroading, and was a member of N-Land Empire N-Scalers while residing in Spokane. Vaughn is survived by his wife, Sarah, his ex-wife Michelle, and his daughters, Micah, Emmah, and Riley, his sister Diana Probert (Scott), step-brothers, John Klein (Traci) and Ryan Klein (Denise) and many nieces and nephews.
