It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vicky (Burton) Payne, who departed this world on March 15, 2024. Vicky was a beloved member of her community which changed every few years with a new location as a military wife. 

Born on July 23, 1949, Vicky lived a life rich in love and service. She was dedicated to her family, friends, and all that she encountered. Her kindness touched many lives, and she will be remembered for her compassion and unwavering support to those close to her.

Vicky was an avid traveler and always enjoyed the journey as well as the destinations, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love was infectious, she never met a stranger inspiring those around her to embrace their passions and live life to the fullest.

Vicky is survived by her loving husband David Payne, her children Kimberly Hildring, Richard (Joe) Thomas, Nicole Via and Elizabeth Cress, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored. She is also survived by her Brother Griffin Burton and Mother-in- Law Eleanor Payne who will cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She leaves behind a community that is deeply saddened by her loss but grateful for the time they shared with her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, honoring Vicky's spirit of giving and her dedication to making the world a better place.

Though she is no longer with us, Vicky's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of determination, kindness, the importance of community, and the beauty of a life well-lived. Rest in peace, Vicky T Payne. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
