It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Virginia L Bettencourt on November 7, 2022.  Virginia passed away at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 14, 1946 in Hanford to Lloyd and Doris Williamson from Riverdale. Virginia graduated from Riverdale high in 1965 and attended College of Sequoias and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received an associate degree. She married Marvin Bettencourt on August 24, 1968 and they recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. They had two children, Christie Bettencourt and Paul Bettencourt.

Virginia was very athletic. An avid golfer who enjoyed walking the Lemoore golf course with her husband who she beat on numerous occasions. Virginia also bowled on two leagues (Wednesday- Seniors and Thursday- Sorry about that). Virginia was a member of the Square Eights square dance club of Hanford where she enjoyed the companionship and friendship of all its members. Virginia liked to travel and took numerous cruises and trips to Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Hawaii.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Williamson, sister Velda Markham and son Paul.

Virginia is survived by her husband Marvin, her daughter Christie, grandchildren Deegan and Keely Bettencourt, and her brothers Harold and Donald Williamson.

Per her request there will be no Services.  A Celebration of Life is in the works and will be updated later.
