Virginia Joyce Sykes

Virginia Bennett Sykes, died on April 17, 2021 at Matlock Place Memory facility. She was born August 23,1934 in Doucett, TX, the Daughter of Leon Burton Bennett and Laura (Murk) Bennett. Virginia graduated from Warren High School. After graduation,she began her role as wife, homemaker and mother to four children. She was also a master gardener, cook and talented Seamstress. She was also a wonderful musician, a talent she passed on to Her family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by 3 sisters , Yvonne Bennett, Hazel Lee Farrel and Madeline Anette Comeaux and two brothers L.D. Bennett and Robert Herman Bennett. Surviving are her daughters Leanette Orcutt of Mansfield, TX; Linda Ortiz and Husband Onie of Arlington, TX; Lana Bell of Calera, AL and son Edward Lynn Bell of Harpersville, AL; 6 grandchildren include Jason Orcutt; Amanda (Orcutt) Salmon; Jordan Bell ; Kendall Bell; Andrew Ortiz and Michael Ortiz and 9 great grandchildren.
A small family memorial was held at her bedside where her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren rejoiced in her life and home going.
