Walter "Lee" Hoffman passed peacefully on March 4, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He entered the world in Alvo, NE on Mother's Day, 1935, son of William G. and Julia A (Paul) Hoffman joining two brothers and a sister.
The family moved to Hawarden and later Akron, Iowa where he attended school. He graduated from Wayne State College in Nebraska in 1961, taught in Norfolk, NE and his hometown of Akron, IA before his marriage to Ann Seabury in 1964. They lived in Fort Morgan, CO where they taught in the public schools before moving to Oregon. In 1970 they moved to Lincoln County, OR where he taught mathematics and physics for 23 years and actively promoted and supported student activities including Booster Club.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers William and Harold, and sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife, daughters Leslie (Christian) Fritz, LaPine, OR, and Kris (Michael) Baker, Kent, WA, sister in law, Cecile Hoffman, three nieces, and grand neices and nephews.
Per his request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
