Walter was born on June 25, 1925 and passed away on June 6, 2017. Walter was a resident of Antelope, CA. He was born in Tucumcari, NM. Don, as everyone knew him, was married 3 times and had 6 children from his first 2 marriages; Billy, Janice, Lee and Mark from his first marriage, Randy and Robert from his second. Growing up on a ranch, Don learned to be a cowboy, roping cattle and riding horses. That experience would stay with him his whole life and he always considered himself to be a cowboy deep down. Don was a WWII veteran, serving in the navy on the ship, the Lavellette. He also was a Sacramento Police Officer for 14 years. In between he worked as an automobile mechanic, in construction, owned several businesses and was an insurance salesman. At the end of his career, he owned a trenching business in New Mexico, until health reasons caused him to shut down. He moved in with his son Randy and wife Shannon in Antelope, CA and lived with them until the day of his passing.
