Wilhelmina - Sullivan

Mina (short for Wilhelmina) entered this world August 21, 1917. Her parents and four of her siblings were born in Czechoslovakia. She and two brothers were born in Chicago Il.. At the age of 10 the family moved to a farm in Knox Indiana. Growing up on a farm in the 30"s instilled in her respect for work and family. As a young woman she moved back to Chicago and met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Sullivan. They married in January 1940. Jerry loved an adventure so in 1943 they packed up a not so good car and with very little money and a 2 an1/2 year old (but very sweet) daughter headed west. This is the part where I could write a book. They started their own rental business (trailers, tractors, etc.) They had another child and gave their children the best childhood. Full of love, camping, family. In 1981 they retired and moved to Spokane, Wa. On Christrmas Day 1991 she lost the love of her life to COPD. In 1993 she moved to Yakima, Wa to live with her daughter. In her 2005 daughter retired and they moved back to Spokane. In 2008 , ( after a terrible winter) her daughter dragged her (she loved the seasons) to California. Where her son and Grandchildren already lived. So hard to put 100 wonderful years into a short description. So many stories to tell.
There will be a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 204 South Calle El Segundo, Palm Springs, CA on September 22, 2018 at 11:00 am. There will be a "Celebration of Life" luncheon at 1:00 pm at Petes Hidaway, 665 South Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA. No flowers please, just give your loved ones a big hug. Please come and share any stories you have of this very special woman.
