William R. Cox, Jr., (Bill), a decorated Marine having served in Vietnam, was suddenly called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 28, 2023, at 76 years of age. He was born December 29, 1946, in Norman, Oklahoma to parents William R. Cox and Maude Cox who predeceased him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and companion of 18 years, Linda, his daughters, Andra Nelson (Bill), Lynsey Wilson (Rob), grandchildren, Natalie Miale, Madison Nelson, and Rylan and Harlow Wilson, and by his brothers Tom Cox ( Cora Lee), Dan Cox (Debbie) and sisters, Mary Ann Highfill (Bob) and Joy Larson ( Paul). He is also survived by Linda’s children Paula Thrash (Trey), Rick Wilson (Angela) and their children, Patrick and McKenna Thrash, Wyatt and Cade Wilson, as well as her brothers Paul Capehart (Jody) and Dan Capehart (Judy).

Bill was bigger than life with a unique personality and recognizable laugh that nobody could forget. His many friends will always miss him and the special memories shared over a lifetime.

Memorial and interment will be Monday, September 18, 2023, 11:30 a.m., at Dallas- Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211.
