William Howard Leonard

William "Bill" H. Leonard passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 after after prolonged illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Lyle "Howard" Leonard and Mable Leonard. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Diane; son, Scott; daughters, Heather and Jill; grandsons, Gian (wife, Jorice) and Anthony; and brothers, Warren (wife, Susan) and Richard (wife, Judy); and neices and nephews.

Bill graduated Valedictorian from Sault Ste. Marie High School in 1956. He graduated from Michigan State University from the College of Business and Public Service Summa Cum Laude in 1961 with a BS in Accounting and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity.

He was originally from Michigan and moved to Arizona to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather. Bill worked as an accountant for over 40 years. He had served in the US Army Reserve as a company clerk during the Vietnam War. Bill had a great love for the Michigan Great Lakes and had built his own boat. He loved to golf and go fishing when he could. He had a big heart for animals, especially dachshund dogs, which he cared for and played with daily. Bill was an amateur historian with a great interest in studying wars and battles that the United States fought. He had a love for the arts, finding great pleasure in painting and listening to opera. Bill loved to travel with his wife, Diane, most notably to Alaska and Mexico. A celebration of life will be held, and family members will be contacted with details.
