William Edward Nollenberger jr

William Edward “Skip” Nollenberger, Jr., of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Born on May 27, 1948, in Burbank, California, Skip was the son of the late William Edward Nollenberger, Sr. and Virginia (Wray) Nollenberger.

A proud graduate of Fillmore High School, Skip built a long career in manufacturing and worked as a machinist by trade. He later retired from Cymer, where he served as a buyer. Skip also served his country in the United States Navy and was deployed with USS Little Rock, USS Leonard F. Mason, and USS Jason.

On March 17, 1990, Skip married the love of his life, Patricia E. Lee. Through Pat, he became a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. Together they shared a love of cars, road trips, and exploring new places. Skip enjoyed NASCAR, tennis, and trying just about any restaurant he could find. He was also a lifelong, passionate L.A. Dodgers fan.

Skip formed deep friendships throughout his life, and many considered him family. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him, as well as by the Rancho Bernardo community, where he made his home for the past 25 years.

Skip is survived by his sister-in-law, Penny Nollenberger, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia E. (Lee); his brother, Gary Nollenberger; and his parents.

Skip’s family and friends extend heartfelt gratitude to his dedicated 24-hour caregivers and the staff of Sharp Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided throughout his long battle with cancer.
